Applications for the new grant schemes start on 1 August 2010.

Meanwhile, please note that 31 July 2010 is the final submission date for National Committee on Youth Guidance and Rehabilitation (NYGR) Application. The Project for new NYGR application  MUST be completed by 31 December 2010.

The National Committee on Youth Guidance and Rehabilitation (NYGR) comprises organisations with a stake in reducing juvenile delinquency and youth crime. They include representatives from the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Home Affairs, National Council of Social Service, Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, and resource persons from National Crime Prevention Council, Subordinate Courts and the academic field, with the National Youth Council (NYC) as the NYGR Secretariat.

NYGR supports the work of non-profit organisations such as Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and Youth Sector Organisations (YSOs) by funding meaningful outreach projects for at-risk youths, public educational programmes targeted at reinforcing positive values, training platforms for youth workers as well as research studies related to at-risk/juvenile delinquency issues e.g. gang, theft, bullying, cyber wellness. The NYGR Fund aims to support these projects through partial funding of programme costs.

Funding for Youth Outreach Projects

Projects and services related to adventure, arts, music, sports, and other lifeskills are common youth development tools used by VWOs and YSOs to engage youths effectively, and empower them in life. These initiatives could come in the form of leadership camps, workshops/seminars, performances, community service projects, and so on.

Funding for Youth Workers’ Training
The NYGR encourages the capability development of youth workers and youth developers by supporting good training platforms on youth work such as workshops, conferences and exchange programmes where organisations and youth workers may apply for partial funding.
Funding for Research on Youth-At-Risk

To promote a deeper understanding of youth-at-risk and youth crime issues within the sector, the NYGR also supports research initiatives and studies conducted by VWOs, YSOs, youth work practitioners and academics.
